Winter Break
What can I say? I have never had such a long winter break. It's one of the few times I actually want school to start, but I guess that's a good thing. This year, I went to Vietnam which was very nice, and exceeded all my expectations. I learned a lot about my culture, my family history, and I also learned to read Vietnamese in one trip. That's right, I learned how to read another language in 3 weeks. We went from the northern capitol of Hanoi, and slowly worked my way down into Saigon.
Time was spared when I got back, and camping in the Redwoods was next on the agenda. Great place, great atmosphere, good friends, smelling bad; that's what camping is all about. I'm much too lazy to post pictures, and I still don't know how to properly center my pictures on this damn website, so unless someone teaches me, NOPE.
Toss in some lame but fun, parties, about 50 hours of Battlestar Galactica, face time with my DS, and some Doan family get-togethers and that is my Winter Break. For those who care.

Too busy...
...Enjoying my winter break. I will update in a little bit, hopefully with pictures from my trip to the motherland.

One more thing...
I, along with many others, get to vote on Tuesday. Get ready for change, and a new direction in our country, no matter who wins.
Since I'm here, someone help a n00b out with this blogspot stuff.

Failing
Man, it sucks to fail. I'm failing calculus, and its my third time failing math. I just really hate math, so I am going to go to a counselor and see what I can do. I will concede that I am really lazy, but I also really hate math, I can't emphasize that enough. Obviously somewhere down the road I want to transfer and I hope my hatred for math doesn't hold me back.
Yesterday was Hard fest, hailed to be the "it" event of year. Justice, Soulwax, Boys Noize, Crookers, and many more showed up. Thinking back I was so excited, but the day came and for me, it was so-so. Maybe it's the fact that I don't do drugs or drink, but I had high hopes. Worth the fifty bucks though, but wasted opportunity I guess, since people were offering me 200. Brian and I talked "what if" right before we went in. What if we sold our tickets and had a really nice steak dinner in LA, and just waited for everyone to finish and then go home? It was nice seeing my friend Terence though. I went home with him, Bruce, and Anthony, and we got IHOP afterward. Good friends, good food; that breakfast made my night.
Did a bee-check today, they are beginning to stock up on the honey for Winter. There's a problem though, because they are building the honeycomb too close to the adjacent frames, and we don't know how to get it apart without. Remind me to call the OCBA, or the Orange County Beekeeper's Association. Haha, yes, there is such a thing.

It's been about a month since my last post, and since then, I have failed one calculus test, fixed my bike, and inspected the bees.
The best part about me week is not having school on Tuesday. The second best part about my week is riding bicycles on Monday. I don't have money right now, and I am not going to sell my bike yet, so I am riding my road bike (a.k.a. for pussies), and I am the only one doing so. I feel like the retarded kid in class, but everyone is very nice and accepting.
Here's a short video of the ride from last Monday.

The bees look healthy right now, and at about this time they are starting to gather the food to last them through winter. Our first honey harvest looks like it will take place sometime in the Spring, but we'll see.

I have a lot more pictures, and they are scattered throughout and on Myspace.

Edumakashun
Haven't hit this thing in a while but here goes. OCC a.k.a. Orange Coast High already started, and it's been pretty good. So far, I go to class, and come right home. No dorms, no parties, no frats, no new people, but I'm alright with that.
I've been keeping myself busy by biking around and beekeeping, haha. It's surprisingly relaxing and the bees put me in a peaceful mood when I'm around them, which is why I can't wait until we move the hive to my house. From now on, I'm going to try to update on the bees when I can.
Yesterday was Steven's birthday, which gave me a lot to think about, since he is leaving and all. We biked to Yogurtland, and waited and hour and a half for Steven to come but I didn't mind at all because I was excited to see him. It was also his first time having Yogurtland and it looks like he enjoyed it, haha. Only two days left for him and he's gone. For the group, it's like a one-two punch in the face with him and Daeniel leaving but, everything will be OK.
